Why don't you get a job
Pearls of wisdom from the parents, eh?
If you're anything like me, or if you were anything like me, you're a typical teenager who thinks, "They just don't understand!"
But bloody hell, I've realised more and more, my parents most certainly do.
I'm one of those people that takes comments on board a little too easily.
My mother goose has always tried to tell me not to take things to heart when people act immaturely, or say things in a petty attempt to hurt me.
And finally, finally I'm grasping this.
A wonderful boy had the best advice of this week, advising me, "forget about all that for now, you have more important things to worry about."
Most of the time I've been worrying about the end of this year, and what on earth I'll do.
But now, I think part of me is quite glad that I'm leaving.
I'm quite sick of how immature and petty some teenagers still are, so it'll be nice to actually just spend time with the people that make me happy.
I'm so grateful for those people that do.
