All just bricks in the wall
Unearthed draft
If you bumped into her in the street, you wouldn't have felt it.
If you chatted to her, you wouldn't have known it.
If you saw her stunning smile, you wouldn't have realised it.
But she was keeping a secret.
Not your day to day secret.
She was rather normal really.
Perhaps even more than normal.
Perhaps a lot less than normal.
She had friends, she had a child, she laughed, she smiled, she drew, she wrote, she was in the community.
She always had been.
She fit in quite snugly with the eccentric little community around her.
But this day, she had planned.
And no one had known that she had planned.
Or, perhaps she hadn't planned.
Perhaps it leapt into her mind when she reached home that day.
Perhaps it had been there all along.
Perhaps something set her off.
Whatever it was, her secret was well kept until it was too late for anyone to discover it.
And a rope supported her just below the neck when her son arrived home that day.
