Sorry about my episode on Theme Thursday my bloggy friends.
I had a very dandy day today :)
The Middleton World Cup was absolutely epic!
After being thrashed 9-nil on Tuesday by Denmark, my fellow Germans and I were quite disheartened.
But thanks to Bob, one of our team members, and his suggestion of reading Al Pacino's Inch by Inch speech, we got quite fired up today!
I changed a few parts to suit soccer, and had to skip out the second to last paragraph, but I even amped myself up haha!
I was practically yelling parts of it, really getting into it,
and when someone came over and told us that it was time to face the Netherlands team, I bounded away feeling a lot more energetic!
I've got to say, I'm as shocked as you are that I scored the first goal!
And girls goals are worth two points!
And Lovely Laurissa got the next one :)
It was pretty insane, we actually played really hard, and I was so proud of all of us!
The teams only have four players, and the games are only 8 intense minutes long- damn hard for someone like me who's used to endurance!
Sam was such a damn good goalie that he dislocated his finger for the good of the team!
We lost 4-6 - a damn site better than Tuesday!
And then I just had a lovely afternoon before I went to Rockquest :)
Everyone feeling cheerier now?
