The concrete looks too thin to break my fall
Well, I guess I best write about one of the highlights of my week then, eh?
After good old Germany did us proud and beat the Aussies (and no, this isn't to do with our love-hate relationship with Australia, it's because we represented Germany in the school world cup!...Okay maybe it's something to do with the love-hate relationship ;)) , I (and it turns out today, basically every boy in all my classes) started watching the All Whites vs Slovakia game last night.
Man, they know how to make you nervous!
The show came on at 11pm, even though kick off wasn't until 11.30.
Seriously, it was 11.10 and I was already about to die of a stress induced coronary disease!
It was so nerve wracking. And I wasn't even there to give them all the Inch by Inch speech! Hmm.. Maybe I should be a sports psychologist?
You know you're too involved in a sport when you're literally praying for a goal.
Haha anyway, in the first half, New Zealand was pretty defensive really. I was surprised when at the end of the first half we'd apparently had 50/50 possession!
Seriously, we were on the edge of our seats waiting for the half time whistle to blow.
And then, Slovakia gets their first goal in the first five minutes of the second half.
That was honestly devastating to watch!
No one really had a lot of faith in the New Zealanders, except me, I'm quite good at blind faith and positive thinking haha!
And that goal by Winston Reid in the 92nd minute!!
Bloody hell!
Again, one of those moments that definitely lifted me up this week!
It was 1:30am when it ended, but I had no idea how I was going to sleep :P
I'd expected a bit more from Hamsik though, but Vittek was damn good.
Oh! And I really want to see more of Chris Wood. How insane would that be? 18 years old and playing in the World Cup!
Not looking forward to getting up at 2am on Monday to watch New Zealand vs Italy though.

Excited apart from the fact that it's in the middle of the night!
